About Chris Hysinger

Throughout his career, Chris Hysinger has held diverse professional roles as both an engineer and as a business leader. In 2010, Chris Hysinger joined Orbital Traction, Ltd., as its Vice President. As part of the senior management team, Chris Hysinger helps to direct strategic planning and business development. His responsibilities include overseeing an engineering team, managing fund-raising efforts, and developing relationships with potential clients.

Chris Hysinger embarked on his professional career in 1997 as a Project Engineer for Schlumberger Technology Corporation. Working out of the company’s Product Center in Sugar Land, Texas, Mr. Hysinger contributed to technology development projects and assisted in the implementation of a reliability improvement program. He subsequently acted as a Trading Intern for Vitol Inc., then as a Trader for BP in Houston. Prior to assuming his current position with Orbital Traction, Mr. Hysinger served with Louis Dreyfus Highbridge Energy LLC as Vice President of Natural Gas Trading. In this role, he developed successful trading strategies and oversaw commercial activities.

Educated at The University of Texas at Austin, Chris Hysinger graduated with honors in 1993, earning a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. He went on to complete a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering at The University of Texas in 1997. He continued his education at the Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Management at Rice University, where he received a Master of Business Administration in Finance in 2002. He graduated from Rice University in 2002 as a Jones Scholar, an award that recognizes students graduating in the top 10 percent of their class.
